WHAT IS CMOS
hi there welcome I'm going to explain about CMOS before I get started I request you to subscribe to my channel and click the bell icon so that you won't miss any of our future updates in my previous video I talking about bias which quickly shakes tape hardware compatibility when the system boots up and also can tweak around the hardware settings so where does all these bias settings and configuration details get stored it's in the same mas memory CMOS stands for complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor a CMOS is a small non-volatile memory which resides on your motherboard which remembers all your BIOS settings confirmation details and system date sometime in normal terms we also call CMOS a CMOS battery we also call it a CMOS memory or a non-volatile BIOS memory because it's non vult and even though if you turn off your PC or laptop it can remember all the configuration details BIOS settings and system data on time a CMOS memory requires very less power which will be around a millionth of an amp and also a typical CMOS battery can last up to 10 years in case if your system or laptop is showing wrong date on time it means your CMOS memory is dead and it's time to replace a new one also you have done changes to your bias settings but you don't know what you have done in that case you want to reset all of your BIOS settings or sometimes you forgot the bios password in those cases you need to click the CMOS memory so how do you cleave the CMOS memory it's pretty simple you just need to remove the battery from the motherboard and put it back or if you are using your laptop just disconnect the wire that connects to the CMOS memory and connect it back
